How to prepare

A traditional interview is a conversation about your background, your motivation for medicine and your experiences. For questions that start with “tell me about a time,” the AAMC recommends the STAR method: the situation, the task, the action you took and the result, with one situation per answer.2

Expect to be asked why University of Louisville. Its mission is a good place to start: “Educate – Discover – Heal: Scaling our impact to revitalize the health of Kentuckiana and beyond.”3 Connect it to something specific you’ve done.
