How we check facts

Admissions rules change every cycle, and a lot of what’s online is out of date. These are the standards every post on the Sandbox blog and every school profile in Sandbox Atlas follows.

We cite official sources only

Every fact about a school, test or application system links to the organization that published it: the school’s own admissions pages, the AFMC admissions guide, the AAMC, AACOM, Acuity Insights (the company behind Casper), CaRMS, or a government. We don’t cite test-prep companies, consultants, forums or Wikipedia. If we can’t find an official source for something, we leave it out or say plainly that it isn’t confirmed.

School tables come straight from Atlas

Tables of school requirements in our posts are generated from Sandbox Atlas, our database of medical programs. Each Atlas profile cites the school’s official pages and shows the date it was last checked. When a school changes its rules and we update Atlas, every post that shows that school updates with it.

School interview guides

Each school’s interview guide is built from its Atlas profile, and every fact in it was re-checked against the school’s own pages before publishing. Where official sources disagreed with each other, described an earlier cycle, or couldn’t be reached, we left that fact out of the guide rather than guess. Schools whose pages we couldn’t check at all don’t have a guide yet.

Who writes and reviews posts

Posts are written by the Sandbox team and reviewed by Sandbox’s founders before they’re published. We use AI tools to help research and draft, and a person checks every fact against its official source before a post goes live.

What the dates mean

“Updated” at the top of a post is when we last changed it. Each source in the list at the bottom shows when we accessed it.

Our interest

Sandbox sells Casper and MMI practice, and our posts link to it. We aren’t affiliated with Acuity Insights, the AAMC, the AFMC or any school, and no school or company pays to appear in our posts.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, email info@sandboxprep.com with a link to the official source. We fix confirmed errors and note the correction at the bottom of the post.
