Degree

MD (graduate entry); school leavers enter via provisional entry (secure an MD place conditional on completing an undergraduate degree with GPA 5.0/7) or direct entry (Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine vertical dual program).

Prerequisites

Key degree: bachelor level, minimum 3 years full-time (GEMSAS)
UQ-Ochsner: from the 2027 intake, no specific prerequisite subjects required, but applicants should have prior coursework in cell biology and systems physiology
Provisional entry: Queensland Year 12 English

GPA

Minimum 5 (7.0). Graduate entry (domestic and international): bachelor's degree (key degree) completed within 10 years prior to commencing, minimum GPA 5.0 on a 7-point scale. 2023–2025 cohort average GPA: domestic 6.66 (range 5.00–7.00), international 6.196 (range 5.00–7.00). Provisional entry: must complete the subsequent undergraduate degree in minimum time with GPA 5.0/7.

MCAT

How selection works

Graduate entry: eligibility screen (GPA 5.0+, GAMSAT 50+ each section or MCAT 504+), then ranking for MMI on a 50:50 combination of GPA and unweighted average GAMSAT (GEMSAS, domestic) or GPA and GAMSAT/MCAT (international direct), then MMI by video conference, then offers. Provisional entry: adjusted ATAR 95+ plus UCAT ANZ aggregate ranking, then MMI, then offers via QTAC or direct. UQ-Ochsner: GPA plus MCAT, then MMI, then rolling offers after each interview round.
