How selection works

Holistic review using a standardized rubric. The Interview Committee (a sub-committee of the Admissions Committee) selects interviewees; its decisions are final with no appeal. Interviews (virtual, Kira Talent) comprise an 8-station MMI and a 30-minute Competency Assessment based on CanMEDS roles, on two separate days. After interviews, applications are redacted and reviewed by the Admissions Committee for a final decision. Offers are sent by pool from March to May; first-round offers by late May; waitlist offers possible until the beginning of August.

Where official sources disagree

  • pools.pe.seats: PEI seats: AFMC 2027 gives 20 at the Charlottetown campus; Memorial's own pages say the PEI number is 'to be determined annually'. Value uses AFMC's 20 because Memorial publishes no number.
  • classSize: AFMC 2027 gives 110 positions (84 NL + 20 PEI + 6 other provinces); Memorial says it accepts 90 at St. John's plus an annually determined number at Charlottetown.
  • timeline (Vision Program opens): Application timelines page says September 7, 2026; the Vision Program page says September 8, 2026.
  • timeline (offers): Memorial's selection page says offers March–May 2027; AFMC says March–June 2027.
  • fees (Casper distribution): Memorial states CAD 18 per school; Sherbrooke states CAD 20 per distribution.
