Requirements

Degree

Four-year bachelor's degree in any subject, all requirements completed by April 30, 2027; degree must be completed within a maximum of five years (written submission considered for extenuating circumstances, due Oct 1, 2026). At least 90 credit units (CU) completed by the application deadline. Minimum 60 CU of in-person university-level courses; entirely distance-education undergraduate degrees not accepted; Tempo Learning degrees not considered.

Prerequisites

  • Approved Indigenous studies prerequisite: a 3 CU (or equivalent) course from the approved list, OR (2026 cycle only) a certificate of completion from University of Alberta's Indigenous Canada (Coursera) or USask's Building an Awareness of Cultural Humility; must be completed by October 1, 2026

GPA

Minimum 80 (University Academic Average (UAA), percentage). UAA calculated in percentages using USask credit weightings (one-term course = 3 CU, two-term = 6 CU); letter grades converted via USask Conversion Scale. Final-year applicants: minimum 90 CU completed at application; UAA uses minimum 90 up to maximum 120 CU; must also maintain 80% in the application year (term 1 and term 2 used). Degree already awarded: most recent 120 CU working backwards from degree award; undergraduate courses taken after the degree are not counted (unless an additional four-year degree is awarded before application, in which case most recent 120 CU back from that degree). Courses must fall within a five-year timespan of study (time away removed). Max 60 CU introductory (100-level) courses; max 60 CU pass/fail; max 60 CU online/distance. Repeated courses: both attempts counted. AP/IB grades excluded. Graduate grades included if within the most recent 120 CU; awarded graduate degree gives augmentation of 3% (Master's) or 4% (PhD), only one augmentation. Where the 120 CU cut-off falls mid-term, the average of the concurrent term's courses is used. Block transfer from articulation agreements uses the technical institute transcript average. One UAA calculated once at file review. Committee may remove highly inconsistent records.

MCAT

MCAT requiredWritten no earlier than January 2022 and no later than August 28, 2026; scores released to USask between August 1 and October 1, 2026.Minimum 492 total and 123 per section, but one section may be 122 if the total is at least 492; used in interview selection.
