Also required

Online interview: series of mini-interviews and tests assessing values, behaviours, communication and problem-solving skills · Personal statement, used at shortlisting · Work experience of some form, used in selection, with disability-inclusive alternatives · Occupational health screening and enhanced DBS check if successful at interview · UCAT required starting with the September 2028 cohort; not required for 2026 or 2027 entry · Not yet a GMC-approved awarding body; subject to enhanced GMC quality-assurance oversight for new medical schools until the first cohort graduates, with University of Leicester Medical School as the required contingency partner

How selection works

Academic eligibility is screened against UCAS points/grade requirements; the personal statement is assessed at shortlisting. Successfully shortlisted applicants are invited to an online interview (a series of mini-interviews and tests assessing values, behaviours, communication and problem-solving skills). Offers (conditional or unconditional) are made based on interview performance; successful applicants then undergo occupational health screening and an enhanced DBS check.
