A100 is a 6-year programme (3 years at St Andrews for a BSc (Hons) in Medicine, then 3 clinical years at a partner medical school, graduating with an MBChB or MBBS), open to Scotland, Rest of UK (RUK) and Overseas fee-status applicants with separate UCAT interview thresholds per stream. ScotGEM (A101) is a separate 4-year graduate-entry MBChB jointly delivered with the University of Dundee, open only to Home (Scotland) or RUK fee status.

How selection works

A100 uses a 'hurdle' approach, not a weighted score: application is assessed for strong academic record, positive reference and relevant work experience; all who clear these hurdles are ranked by UCAT global score and the top ~650 invited to interview; offers are then based on interview score and chosen partner-school route, with UCAT used only to break ties on interview score.
