Requirements
MBBS (A101), 4-year graduate-entry-only programme. Priority is given to applicants ordinarily resident in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, with a smaller number of places (varying year to year) for GB applicants; international applicants are also encouraged to apply via a separate International Portal route. No formal citizenship restriction, but selection prioritises NI/ROI residents to address the Northern Ireland medical workforce shortage.
- 2:1 Honours degree (any discipline) or Masters at 60%+ overall, completed by end of June in year of entry
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics
- Current GAMSAT score meeting the annual threshold
- Enhanced Disclosure from AccessNI (or other relevant authority)
Also required
International applicants pay a mandatory clinical placement levy (£12,133 for 2026/27) on top of tuition, partially subsidised on a sliding scale (Year 1 £4,600; Years 2-4 £9,500 each) · Multiple Mini Interview (MMI); maximum of two MMI attempts across all applications to the programme · Medical declaration and occupational health clearance · Enhanced Disclosure (AccessNI) criminal record check · Demonstrated insight into the work of a doctor and commitment to practising as a doctor after graduation · No numeric priority quota is published for NI/ROI vs GB vs international places; Ulster states priority/approach but not exact numbers
