Casper for teachers’ college in Ontario

If you’re applying to teachers’ college in Ontario, two things changed at once: Casper test names, and the length of the program itself.
Western’s B.Ed.
Western tells applicants to “select Casper 2 CSP-10211 – Canadian Teacher Education (After Degree).” For the September 2027 intake, applications opened September 10, 2026 and close November 2, 2026, and “the last Western testing date for this admission cycle is November 5, 2026.”1
That matches Acuity’s 2026–27 naming: teacher education after a degree uses Canada Casper 2 (English), while other Canadian teacher education programs use Canada Casper 1.2
The move to 12 months
Western is “moving our Bachelor of Education program to a 12-month, three-term format in September of 2027.” It says the change “comes in response to a provincial mandate” and that “all faculties of education in Ontario have moved to the 12-month format.”3
The law behind it is Ontario’s Bill 101, the Putting Student Achievement First Act, 2026, which received Royal Assent. It allows regulations to set requirements for teacher education programs, including their timing and duration.4
