Casper 1 or Casper 2? Which Casper test to book in 2026–27
Acuity renamed its Casper test types for 2026–27. Which one to book for medicine, nursing, pharmacy, teaching and more, with the test codes schools ask for.
Key facts
- Acuity renamed several Casper test types for 2026–27. Programs only accept the test type in their requirements.
- In Canada, undergraduate health sciences, undergraduate engineering and teacher education use Canada Casper 1. Graduate health sciences and after-degree teacher education use Canada Casper 2.
- In the US, undergraduate programs use United States Casper 1, and graduate business and professional health sciences use United States Casper 2.
- US MD and DO test types didn’t change this cycle.
- Many Canadian professional programs list the code CSP-10211 for Canada Casper 2 (English).
If you’re booking Casper this cycle, the name of the test you need may have changed. Acuity says: “for the 2026–2027 admissions cycle, we’ve updated the naming convention for several Casper test types.”1 Booking the wrong one is an easy mistake, because programs only accept the test type in their requirements.

All rows come from Acuity’s 2026–27 guidance.1 Acuity also lists test types that didn’t change, including US MD and DO and Canadian postgraduate medical education.
The codes schools ask for
Many schools name the exact test code on their own admissions pages. For example, McGill’s dental program lists “Casper 2 CSP-10211” for the English test,2 and the University of Toronto’s PharmD asks for “Casper 2 CSP-10211.”3 Undergraduate programs use the Casper 1 code instead: Brandon University’s nursing program asks for “Canada Casper 1 (English) (CSP-10200).”4
The test itself
The renaming doesn’t change the standard format: 11 scenarios, 4 with video answers and 7 with typed answers, in about 65 to 85 minutes.5
Questions
