How to prepare
An MMI is a series of short, timed stations, each with its own interviewer and scenario. The AAMC describes typical MMIs as 6 to 10 stations of about five minutes each, though timing varies by school.2 Practice reading a prompt, deciding your position quickly, and talking through the issue, the people involved, what you’d do and why.
Expect to be asked why Xavier University. Its mission is a good place to start: “The mission of XUCOM is to establish and grow a reflective and discerning medical community that educates osteopathic physicians in the Jesuit Catholic tradition to be fully alive intellectually, morally, and spiritually.”1 Connect it to something specific you’ve done.
