Casper video responses: how to answer in one minute
The Casper video section has four scenarios, two questions each, and one minute per answer. A simple structure that fits the time and shows your reasoning.
Key facts
- The video section has 4 scenarios with 2 questions each, shown one at a time.
- You get 1 minute to record each answer.
- A four-part structure fits the minute: the issue, the people involved, what you’d do, and why.
- Practice out loud on a timer. One minute goes faster on camera than it does in your head.

The video section is the first part of Casper this cycle. According to Acuity, it has 4 scenarios, each with 2 questions “presented one at a time,” and “you will have 1 minute per question to record your video responses.”1 That’s eight answers of one minute each, so structure matters more than polish.
A structure that fits one minute
One minute is about 130 to 150 spoken words. That’s room for four short moves:
- Name the issue. One sentence on what’s actually at stake, not a summary of the scenario.
- Name who’s affected. The people in the scenario and what each of them needs.
- Say what you’d do. A specific first step, not “I would think about it.”
- Say why. The principle behind your choice: fairness, safety, honesty or respect.
If you have time left, add what you’d do if your first step didn’t work. Showing that you’ve weighed more than one person’s point of view makes a stronger answer than a perfectly tidy ending.
Lead with the decision
Because the recording stops at one minute, put your decision and main reason in the first 30 seconds. If you run long, the part that gets cut is the follow-up, not your answer.
Practice the way you’ll be tested
Practice out loud, on camera, with a one-minute timer. Read a scenario, give yourself a moment to think, then answer without stopping. After a few rounds, watch one back: listen for filler, for whether you named a clear action, and for whether you gave a reason.
Questions
How many video questions are on Casper?
Eight: 4 video scenarios with 2 questions each, answered one at a time, with 1 minute per answer.
What if I run out of time mid-sentence?
The recording ends when the minute is up. Lead with your decision and your main reason, so the most important part is always recorded.
