How to prepare

An MMI is a series of short, timed stations, each with its own interviewer and scenario. The AAMC describes typical MMIs as 6 to 10 stations of about five minutes each, though timing varies by school.⁶ Practice reading a prompt, deciding your position quickly, and talking through the issue, the people involved, what you’d do and why.

For a virtual interview, the AAMC recommends a computer or tablet over a phone, with the camera at eye level.⁷

Expect to be asked why McMaster University. Its mission is a good place to start: “Together advancing health through learning and discovery.”⁸ Connect it to something specific you’ve done.
