How to prepare

A panel interview means several interviewers at once.⁶ Answer the whole panel, not just the person who asked, and ground your answers in specific examples from your own experience.

For a virtual interview, the AAMC recommends a computer or tablet over a phone, with the camera at eye level.⁷

Expect to be asked why University of Ottawa. Its mission is a good place to start: “Our mission is to select a culturally and socioeconomically diverse group of medical students who are ready to pursue academic and personal excellence and who possess multifaceted interests and personal qualities.”³ Connect it to something specific you’ve done.
