How to prepare

An MMI is a series of short, timed stations, each with its own interviewer and scenario. The AAMC describes typical MMIs as 6 to 10 stations of about five minutes each, though timing varies by school.8 Practice reading a prompt, deciding your position quickly, and talking through the issue, the people involved, what you’d do and why.

A panel interview means several interviewers at once.8 Answer the whole panel, not just the person who asked, and ground your answers in specific examples from your own experience.

For a virtual interview, the AAMC recommends a computer or tablet over a phone, with the camera at eye level.9

Expect to be asked why University of Saskatchewan. Its mission is a good place to start: “As the only medical school in Saskatchewan, USask CoM exists primarily to serve the residents of the province.”10 Connect it to something specific you’ve done.
